Community Overview

Pediatrics – Opportunity for a traditional inpatient and outpatient private practice. This is a permanent position. The hospital would provide an income guarantee for the first year of around $200K (75th percentile), as well as a relocation and signing bonus. Call is 1:5. There are currently four other pediatricians in the community.  Call – three of the pediatricians share call; one of the doctors takes 5 days; the other two take the other 25 days; call isn’t bad. Clinic is located in the MOB next adjacent to the hospital. Volume – about 20 patients per day; can do more if desired.

COMMUNITY: Located in the northeastern corner of the state of Nevada, situated on the Humboldt River halfway between Reno and Salt Lake City. Interstate 80 traverses Elko County, making it a convenient destination if traveling by car. The city of has an elevation of 5.060 feel. Our dry environment provides a moderate climate, making it an ideal year-round vacation spot. The high desert experience four mild annual seasons.  Fall is spectacular, winter months bring average high temperatures between 37-43 degrees. Lows average between 25-31 degrees. During the warm, dry, summer months the average high temperature generally ranges between 80-90 degrees.

The average family income is $38,000, the highest in the state of Nevada, where there is no state tax.Elko also offers 8 shopping mini-malls, 4 casinos, 7 grocery stores, 24 churches, 32 hotels/motels, 50 restaurants, 2 cinemas with 9 theaters and two comprehensive libraries.

South Fork State Recreation Area is located just 16 miles southwest of us following state routes of 227 and 228. South Fork is a favorite among locals for all water sports, including boating, water skiing, and fishing. Camping is available in developed sites. Wildhorse State Recreation Area is comprised of more than 120 acres of outdoor fun and adventure. Boating, fishing, camping, picnicking, hunting, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and an annual ice-fishing derby round out the endless recreational options. Ruby View Golf Course is a majestic 18-hole “grand ol’ man” of our city and has the look and feel of an exclusive country club – at public course prices. Spring Creek Golf Course is a privately owned 6,258 yard par 72 course set at the base of the Ruby Mountains. Much like a British links course, accuracy is at a premium.
